UFC on Fox: Alvarez vs. Poirier. Biggest winners and losers. (and people who stayed the same)

What a fight card UFC on Fox delivers once again with exciting fights throughout the night lets start the recap with the losers first

Biggest losers

Ross Pearson- coming of a win Ross was hoping to make it two in a row and start a winning streak instead he lost what is now his 5th out of his last 6 fights and now is facing either retirement or being cut by the UFC.

Olivier Aubin-Mercier- Despite winning four fights in a row and seemingly making a big jump in his career OAM seemed to lack cardio in this fight, and completely gassed out half way through the 2nd round. He has not been able to make the jump to contender yet in what was his 10th UFC fight.

Jeremy Stephens- More of the same from Stephens as whenever he comes close to a title shot he losses. An exciting fighter but now seems to be more of a gatekeeper than a title contender.

and now the biggest winners

Biggest Winners

Calgary- After a terrible card (UFC 149) this city has finally received another UFC card and boy did it deliver. Great fights all night getting to see legends like Aldo, Jedrzejzcyk, and Alvarez, what a night.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk- Proving the doubters wrong, Joanna was able to get her first win since losing two fights to Rose Namajunas. Joanna has once again proved she is deserving of a title shot.

Jordan Mein- A fighter who seemed to have lost interest in fighting was able to get a big win against Alex Morono, breathing just a little bit of hope into a previously lost career.

Islam Makhachev- Islam has now shown people that he is a legit title contender, and someone who should get to fight tony ferguson in his return fight. a fight which would be a huge step up for Islam.

Jose Aldo- A finish for Jose Aldo his first since 2013, and now shown that there is still fight left in this veteran fighter. Next a fight with the winner of next weeks Swanson vs. Moicano fight would work well.

Dustin Poirier- Wow! What a fight! Poirier has now earned a title shot against Nurmagomedov. That might have been his most impressive fight in his career, Poirier is now a everytime he fights it could be the fight of the year type of fighter. Once again he has won an all out war.

and lastly the people who stayed the same

Stayed the same

Randa Markos- Continued a streak of win 1 lose 1 which has lasted for her last 11 fights a talented Markos has seemed to struggle to become a contender in this division.

Tecia Torres- Torres fought well but was simply not good enough to beat Jedrzejczyk, now Torres must make improvements to have a chance to win that UFC belt.

Ion Cutelaba- Despite winning his fight he has not shown that he has the skills to challenge for the belt, and his call out of Cormier was laughable.
